Singlish Keyboard Shortcuts & Global Mode
Complete reference for Singlish.lk keyboard shortcuts including global Singlish mode, suggestion selection, and navigation hotkeys.
Global Singlish Mode (Ctrl+Space)
The global Singlish toggle lets you type Sinhala in ANY text field on any website — not just the typing tool.
Click the red "සිං" button on the right edge of the page, or use the toggle button (no default global hotkey in browser — the toggle is click-only).
When Singlish mode is ON (indicator turns red), every Latin letter you type in any text input is converted to Sinhala in real-time.
Mode persists across page loads via localStorage. Toggle it on/off anytime.

Global Mode Tips
Use zx...zx to wrap English words: anything inside zx...zx passes through unconverted.
Example: type "zxHello zxmama" → "Hello මම".
The global mode buffer resets on non-Latin characters and modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Meta).
Works in text inputs, textareas, and contentEditable elements.
Add data-singlish-ignore="true" to any input to exclude it from global conversion.
